Police have charged 21 year old Timothy Jackman with the murder of Transgender Potters resident, Angel, whose given name was Arnal Joseph.

The charges were laid this afternoon some 48 hours after the stabbing death.

The two were reportedly engaged in a dispute when the incident happened.

Jackman, who was reportedly in an intimate relationship with Angel, will make his first appearance in court on Monday.

This is the 7th murder since the start of the year.

Meanwhile, the Director of Gender Affairs issued a release this afternoon, saying this killing marks another life lost to intimate partner violence.

The Directorate says while women are disproportionately affected by this form of violence, members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community are even more vulnerable.
