Amazon’s Fire TV stick now comes with a remote that can control your TV

Amazon is now including its upgraded Alexa voice remote with its entry-level $39.99 Fire TV Stick, replacing the old, basic remote that the company previously included. The Alexa remote for the Fire TV’s  adds a bunch of new exciting features to the streaming device. The ability to directly control things like power, volume, and mute on your TV without having to fumble around for another remote, thanks to the inclusion of IR blasters.

Amazon has already offered the upgraded remote bundled in with the $49.99 Fire TV Stick 4K and $119.99 Fire TV Cube, but it has charged an extra $29.99 for owners of the regular Fire TV stick to upgrade. Bundling the better remote in the box makes more sense, although it sadly won’t be too helpful for anyone who already owns a Fire TV Stick.
