Is Wakanda becoming a reality? Thanks to visionary Akon, the world may see what Wakanda would look like in real life. Akon has introduced the public to his own version of cryptocurrency, called Akoin. He also has plans to build a city in Senegal with an economy based around the cryptocurrency. To get the project started Akon was gifted 2,000 acres by the the president of Senegal. As stated by the Akoin website, the city will be call “Akon Crypto City”. What does the introduction of the first “crypto city” mean for the rest Africa? According to page six, Akon told a panel at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, “…blockchain and crypto could be the savior for Africa in many ways because it brings the power back to the people and brings the security back into the currency system…”
