YNW Melly Could Be Facing the Death Penalty
YNW Melly awaits his trail behind bars inside the Broward County Jail, facing double murder charges for shooting and killing his friends Christopher ” Juvy” Thomas Jr, and Anthony “Ask” Williams. Florida prosecutors are seeking the death penalty in his case.
In court documents obtained, Assistant State Attorney Kristine Bradley claims that the killings were premeditated and that Melly, born Jamell Demons, allegedly committed the crimes because of “pecuniary” gains. The prosecutors also claim that YNW Melly is a gang member.
The 19-year-old upstart’s legal team believes once all the evidence is presented, it will prove that Melly is completely innocent.
Last March, Melly pled not guilty to two counts of first-degree murder. The Florida rapper was originally arrested in February after evidence led Miramar Police to believe that he and an alleged accomplice committed the crime.
