UPDATE: HURRICANE FLORENCE MAKES LANDFALL KILLING AT LEAST 5 PEOPLE
Hurricane Florence Makes Landfall In North Carolina, Killing At Least 5 People, The National Weather Service warned Florence will likely be “the storm of a lifetime for portions of the Carolina coast” with “the potential for unbelievable damage.” What we know so far is that Florence made landfall on the North Carolina coast at 7:15 a.m with at least 90 mph winds the Hurricane weakened to a tropical storm on Friday afternoon.
Millions of people were forced to evacuate their homes in North and South Carolina ahead of the storm with most coastal areas under mandatory evacuation orders. At least 5 people are reported dead and 800,000 customers were without power as Florence roared ashore.

Florence is expected yo bring in catastrophic flooding as it slows to a crawl over land, bringing potentially unprecedented rainfall to the region. Forecasters said the storm could possibly produce more than 40 inches of rain in parts of the Carolinas. Areas along the coast could see dangerous storm surge upward of 13 feet .
