TRAVIS SCOTT TO CURATE NBA 2K19 SOUNDTRACK
Ahead of the September 7th launch, 2K reveals that Travis Scott will be curating the music for NBA 2K19
recently, the most relevant Basketball player, sat down with the most current relevant hip hop artist, discussed the new release of NBA 2K19. Who are we talking about? LeBron James and Travis Scott. This years game features a soundtrack, executive produced by none other than Travis Scott. And while NBA 2k has always had a great collection of music to add to their impressive and innovative gameplay, this year seems to follow in the trend of tapping into great artist to bring it home sonically.
In 2013 NBA 2k summoned Jay Z to curate the soundtrack of NBA 2K13. Which would be the first of many. In 2014 that job was given to Lebron James. Soon to be taken over by Pharrell Williams in 2015, followed by a collection of DJ Primier, DJ Khaled, and DJMustard for the release of 2016’s version. Travis stated how much of “an honor.” It was, during his sit down with Lebron James.
In his words, “I always like the chance to curate music to fit a lifestyle and 2k is definitely a lifestyle.” This years Travis Scott themed, NBA 2k soundtrack includes a number of songs from Travis Scotts own Astroworld album, along with tracks from Bruno Mars, Cardi B, Migos , PARTYNEXTDOOR, and more.
Along with curating the soundtrack, Travis Scott will also be appearing in the actual game as himself. NBA 2k19 releases September 11 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, and Nintendo Switch.
