Expected to be an event filled with iconic looks, Met Gala 2019 saw yet another star-studded series of red carpet entries. This year, attendees put together some of the boldest outfits under the theme of “Camp: Notes on Fashion,” to celebrate the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute’s launch of its new exhibition. The concept of the exhibition was inspired by American writer, filmmaker, philosopher, teacher, and political activist, Susan Sontag’s 1964 essay of the same name, which put forth the definition of camp as “love of the unnatural: of artifice and exaggeration.”

Red carpet highlights include Zendaya in her Disney inspired outfit, Kylie and Kendall Jenner showing off contrasting feather-assisted dresses and Naomi Campbell making her presence known with a bold purple look. More showy outfits came from Jared Leto who carried his own head.

Social media was in an uproar when Rihanna and Beyonce weren’t spotted at this years festivities.
