Rain no nightmare for Daydream
Daydream is a reoccuring posh all white affair at Solaris Estate, St Thomas for almost 12 years. The event has done so well at its place of start; that organizers, Wright Image Entertainment, have taken the festivities state side to Florida for the last four years. Daydream is known to bring wide audiences together regardless of the venue, and that was not going to change at this year’s event. Dream Weekend 2018 brought thousands of men and women together sporting variants of all white at Wonderland, Negril. In regards to the weather conditions PJ Wright, the mind behind Wright Image Entertainment, told The Gleaner “Over the years, staging Daydreams in Negril, we always expect rain, so we prepare as best as possible so that the patrons’ experience is not affected”.
Despite heavy rains that left the ground muddy and unsuitable for an all white affair, people still managed to show out and support. The event started as scheduled 2p.m. with a few party goers already equipped with umbrellas before any sign of rain. Moments later those same individuals were keen on staying dry with their umbrellas. One would think that the poor weather would stop the party early, however for those present at Daydream the rain was no nightmare. Despite the weather the partying went nonstop until around 10pm, thanks to the stylings of DJ Crazy Neil and the men of Coppershot Sound. Renaissance’s Jazzy T also in attendance with his set of ’90s dancehall and reggae hits.
