Apple Shares New 10.5-Inch iPad Air and Updated iPad Mini

Apple and its CEO Tim Cook announced a new 10.5-inch iPad Air and iPad Mini. The iPad Air model will be able to support the original Apple Pencil along with the company’s Smart Keyboard and will be powered by Apple’s A12 Bionic chip. In terms of size comparison, the forthcoming Air model will fit between existing iPad and iPad Pro versions and has been upgraded from its original 9.7-inches. For design and display bezels, this iPad Air will house similar specs to the smaller iPads rather than its iPad Pro counterpart. Lightning connector and Touch ID system will also be set in place in lieu of the Pro’s USB-C port and Face ID.

Along with this 10.5-inch iPad Air option, a new 7.9-inch iPad Mini has also been introduced which contains all the same specs as the newly announced Air; Apple Pencil will also be compatible with this model.
The 10.5-inch iPad Air will retail at $499 USD for the Wi-Fi model and $629 USD for the Wi-Fi and cellular version and will come in either a “Silver,” “Space Gray” or “Gold” colorway. The iPad Mini will retail for $399 USD for the Wi-Fi model and $529 USD for the Wi-Fi and cellular version. All options are available to order online now and will physically drop in stores next week.
