KFC Is Now Selling Chicken And Waffles
Chicken and waffles went from being a southern comfort food to a brunch staple across the nation. Restaurants have tried to cash in on the popularity of the sweet and savory dish by making it a menu item, but only recently has a fast food chain stepped up to the plate to take a swing at it.
#KentuckyFriedChicken has got you covered. From now until December 31st, customers can choose between KFC’s extra crispy chicken or extra crispy chicken tenders, served with waffles and Mrs. Butterworth’s syrup for their meal The dishes will be available at KFC’s nearly 4,200 restaurants across the U.S. and are starting at $5.49.
KFC tried 15 different waffle variations before opting for thick, Belgian Liege-style waffles made with a yeast-raised dough instead of a batter, said KFC’s head chef Bob Das in a statement. The result, he said, “is sweeter and doughier than American-style waffles.”
