The Aron and Christina Foundation donated 19 Kindle Fire Tablets to the students of Workman’s Primary School this morning.

The Aron and Christina Foundation donated 19 Kindle Fire Tablets to the students of Workman’s Primary School this morning. The presentation of tablets is a part of the Aron and Christina’s overall mission to donate 1, 000 tablets by year-end to students at primary schools so that they have access to technology.

The principal of the Workman, St George institution Sandra Downes told students that they would be receiving tablets which would assist with their learning activities while member of Parliament for St George South Gline Clarke said the tablets are useful for the development of their education.

“I hope that those of you who receive the tablets today do good for your school and yourself. These tablets are able to do research into Fine Arts, Mathematics, Science and things of an educational nature,” Clarke said, adding that he hopes that in the future children at an even younger age are exposed to technology.

“I hope one day that children not only from Class 3 but maybe a little earlier from Class 2 or 1 can get tablets. You need to have other foundations in this island come forward and follow [the Foundation] in helping institutions,” he said.

Clarke added that the students were lucky to receive the donation from the Aron and Christina Foundation.

“This school is lucky. The [foundation] has not only given to students of Workman’s but it has given to many students around Barbados from various schools. And we would like more business people to come forward and help to promote education,” he said.

Founder of the Aron and Christina Truss Foundation said the organization decided to present tablets to Class 3 students because they believe students at that age are responsible.

“The reason we present to the Class 3 students is that we feel you are now old enough to handle the responsibility of the tablet and you will have it to prepare for the 11 plus,” Truss said.

The students were excited to receive their tablets which were presented by Aron Truss and Member of Parliament for St George South Gline Clarke.
