According to Time, In the fourth grade, James missed 83 days of school while him and his mother found different places to lay their head. LeBron’s “ I Promise” school is offering it’s students Free; tuition, uniforms, bicycle and helmet, transportation within 2 miles, breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Not only does the school benefit the students, it gives opportunities to the families as well. By offering food pantry, GED and Job placement opportunities to families. The I Promise School opened Monday morning with LeBron giving a speech “I know exactly what these 240 kids are going through… I’ve been there. They’re the reason why this school is here today.” Basketball is not the only thing that will be apart of LeBron’s legacy, and Akron is thankful for that.
