In celebration of its 82nd birthday, Krispy Kreme is releasing special limited-time-only birthday doughnuts beginning July 15.

The Winston-Salem-based bakery will utilize its traditional dough as a base before dousing it in birthday cake batter and dipping it in strawberry icing. Sprinkles complete the dollar doughnuts, which will be available until July 19. However, on the final day, Krispy Kreme will allow customers to buy a dozen traditional glazed doughnuts for just $1 USD with the purchase of any dozen other treats.

Krispy Kreme marketing chief Dave Skena states:

“Krispy Kreme fans love to celebrate our birthday. they really make it their party, which is good with us. We’re continuing our birthday tradition of the $1 dozen deal, which is great. But this year for the first time we are filling an Original Glazed doughnut with birthday cake batter … and that’s even better.”
