Apple Rumored to Break iTunes Into Three Separate Apps

Apple is expected to break up its iTunes software into separate TV, Music, and Podcast apps in the next major update for macOS. According to 9to5mac, two well-known Apple developers have confirmed the rumors and also mentioned that there will be a huge redesign for the Books app.

The upcoming apps will be based on Apple’s Project Marzipan, which allows developers to port apps from iOSto macOS easier. As such, the macOS version of Books will be redesigned more in line with its iOS counterpart. The book design is speculated to feature a sidebar like the News app, showcasing books, audiobooks, and other reading materials owned by the user. It will also have tabs for the Library, Book Store, and Audiobook Store.

Expect more news from Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference in June.
